Our Place In Space

Our 10km sculpture trail of the solar system will animate the riverside in Derry~Londonderry for four weeks, and will feature an epic programme of events. Swing by Saturn, venture up to Venus and jog on down to Jupiter all before sunset!

About the Trail

The trail launches in Derry~Londonderry on 22 April, Earth Day beginning at the Sun in Bay Road Park moving along the park by the river Foyle, running through the city centre, before heading across the river to the Waterside greenway to Pluto.

Toilets

AccessoLoo will be available at the start of the trail for disabled guests. There are no toilet facilities available at Bay Road Park. Public toilets are available along the route. Detailed trail maps are available from our Trail Guardians and Volunteers and will highlight public facilities along the route.

Accessibility Guide

We want as many people as possible to have an enjoyable experience along the trail. To ensure this, we have completed an accessibility audit and created a guide.

Car Parking

Our Place in Space will operate a free car park facility at Fort George each weekend and on Bank Holidays. This car park is located on the Strand Road and within short walking distance to the start of the trail. Spaces are limited.

Other independent car parking facilities are available along the route.

Limited parking is available at Bay Road and at Da Vinci’s Hotel at all times during the trail. If you want to explore the outer planets of the trail, limited parking is available at Ebrington Square. Please note Our Place in Space is not responsible for the operation of these car parks.
